Workshop Description
In this four-day workshop, you will develop your own visual language and create a finished piece of handmade jewelry based on inspiration taken directly from the natural world. Learn subtractive and additive techniques to turn casting wax into unique wearable and sculptural forms of your own design, inspired by nature. Once carved, the waxes will be cast into metal offsite for you. The second half of the class is focused on taking the raw casting and finishing it with metalworking tools into a wearable piece of jewelry. You will also set stones, add texture, metal findings and finishing touches. This class meets over four Saturdays, August 2, 8, 16, & 23 from 10am-4pm with an hour lunch break each day. Day one will include a short, easy hike- please wear comfortable shoes. All classes in our studio require you to wear closed-toed shoes, and it is best to wear clothing that you won't mind getting dirty. Please bring your reading glasses if you need them. This class takes place over two weekends, Saturday and Sunday from 9am-4pm with a one hour lunch break each day. Class price includes instruction and access to studio tools and supplies. Casting fees, metals and stones are charged according to individual use.

Cancellation Policy
If you have purchased a class or workshop and are unable to attend, the following policies are in place: CLASS CANCELLATIONS MUST BE RECEIVED 7 DAYS BEFORE THE CLASS OR WORKSHOP DATE, via email or phone call, to receive a credit for the amount of the class, minus a $15 cancellation fee. this credit must be used within 6 months of issue date or is no longer valid. Cancellations received between 7 and 4 days in advance of class will be refunded at 50% of the cost. Cancellation received within 3 days of the start of class will not be refunded or credited. If a class is cancelled or rescheduled by Acequia Jewelry Workshop, you will receive a full refund or class credit. this credit must be used within 6 months of issue date or is no longer valid. If you cannot attend a class or workshop due to serious medical or family emergencies, you are entitled to a full refund or credit, regardless of how close to the start of class we receive notification. PLEASE NOTIFY Acequia Jewelry Workshop AS SOON AS POSSIBLE before the start date/time of your class if such an emergency arises. If you do not attend your scheduled class or workshop and have not notified us via email or phone call before the start date/time of your class (due to a medical emergency or other cause) the full cost of the class is forfeited.
